Remembrance Sunday 2014

Today is Remembrance Sunday. Today the UK is a wealthy, free and safe democracy. This has been built on the blood of British Servicemen over the last 100 years. The last world war one veteran has passed away, those from World War two are ever diminishing in numbers. I was shocked to find out that over a quarter of a million British service personell had served in the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns in the last ten years. Many have suffered injuries and trauma. We all owe them a debt of gratitude for their sacrifice. Whatever you may think of these conflicts, we can all sleep soundly in our beds because we have brave men and women who are prepared to put their lives at risk for a greater good. That is why I believe we should all support the work of the Royal British Legion.
